She won't let my husband or I help....wont talk to us about her diagnosis we used to have a happy  carefree type of young lady and I th has all gone so terrible. We live remotely and their is not a lot of support around

Re: New to forum and diagnosis

Hello @Zono  and welcome to the forums.

Living in a remote area does add challenges to what is already a difficult situation. As carers, getting some support and coping stategies can often be the difference between coping and not. There are on line psychology services who provide services to rural areas (a lot bulk bill with a mental.health plan from GP).

I will tag you in  thread where others care for their adult children share.

Have you any hobbies/pets, I can tag you in some social threads too which you might enjoy.

Re: New to forum and diagnosis

Welcome @Zono, you've got support here.  Thanks for sharing, and sorry to hear what you're going through at the moment, living remotely must not make things easier

Re: New to forum and diagnosis

Thank you

Re: New to forum and diagnosis

Checking in to see how things are going @Zono, is there someone who is a trusted person who may be able to talk to your daughter and help out?

Re: New to forum and diagnosis

Hello@Zono , how are you and your daughter today Heart

Re: New to forum and diagnosis

Yes there is thank you. I still believe my daughter needs to go to Adelaide for specialised treatment but she does not want to at this stage. Getting support from Headspace ATM so see how she goes.

Re: New to forum and diagnosis

That's great that she is getting support from Headspace @Zono, how are you going? Have you been able to get some support for yourself as well?
