Intrusive Thoughts OCD

Hi everyone,

I am a new member here and am needing some advice.

Some back story is I have been off my medication for 3 days because I can not afford it.

If you are alarmed,

I will be able to access it as I get my paid check tomorrow.

As I have been off my medication a few days problematic circumstances have occurred in my brain and thinking patterns.

I have realised how much I more therapy and support I need.

I have come to the realisation that I may have OCD intrusive thoughts.

I have been struggling with very intense thought patterns that I as a person usually do not have tonight.

Today, I had a brilliant day of fun. Suddenly tonight on my way home, I got the most disturbing thought I have ever experienced in my life surround with fun and exciting people. The more I tried to push it away, the more it came back. It went into distressing detail and possible outcomes. It caused me to over think immensely to the point it made me feel physical sensation. That scaried me terribly.

If anyone has any suggestions, it would greatly appreciated about what therapies help people with OCD and Intrusive Thoughts.

Re: Intrusive Thoughts OCD

Hi @BlueB3rry

Welcome to the forums and thanks for sharing.

It really does sound like you're going through a rough time at the moment.

I wish I had something to offer you in terms of therapies that could help you out with your issue.... unfortunately I don't, but I did want to write a quick post to welcome you, and show that people are listening to you.

Hopefully someone will be able to post some useful information for you soon

Stay strong 🙂

Re: Intrusive Thoughts OCD

Hi @BlueB3rry , my advice is to do further research. Such as reading some books on OCD, watching some videos (you can't ask that on Iview has an episode on OCD). I would also encourage you to note down whenever you have these intrusive thoughts and what exactly it is saying and the reaction you are having to it. Lastly, have you looked up if intrusive thoughts are a withdrawel effect of your medication?
